Fighting the elusive beast: corruption in Africa

With Africa loosing an estimated $150 billion per year through corruption, the 5th Global Forum on Fighting Corruption and Safeguarding Integrity, held in South Africa between April 2 and 5, should have its work cut out. We'll be watching.

The 5th Global Forum on Fighting Corruption and Safeguarding Integrity, will indeed have its work cut out. Foremost on the list would be to identify how corruption is financed. Integrity seems to be relative to time, space and place.


Africa is a complex issue. We have to look beyond corruption to understand the current situation.
