Branson opens African entrepreneurship school

Billionaire impresario Richard Branson has announced the opening of a free “school of entrepreneurship” at CIDA City Campus in South Africa - already a shining example of educational creativity.

"The South African economy is dependent on entrepreneurial activity for creating future economic growth and jobs," said Sir Richard… "Currently the economic contribution to South Africa's entrepreneurial sector is below the emerging markets norm, I believe that increasing entrepreneurship in this country is the golden highway to economic freedom."

Fittingly, CIDA operates out of an unused bank building where Nelson Mandela once worked.

The new CIDA Seed fund will also provide start-up capital for micro-enterprises. (Thanks Jeannie)
